NetNut Shut Down? What Happened and the Best NetNut Alternatives (2026)
The FBI seized NetNut's domains on 2 July 2026. Hell World no longer sells any NetNut pool. Here is what is publicly known, and which residential and ISP pools to move to, with real per-GB prices and expiry rules.
Short answer: on 2 July 2026 the FBI seized hundreds of domains associated with NetNut, a residential proxy service operated by Alarum Technologies. Hell World has stopped selling every NetNut pool (Netnut and F-Netnut). If you were using NetNut, move to one of the residential or static ISP pools below; your Hell World balance works on all of them.
What is publicly known
According to KrebsOnSecurity:
- The FBI, working with industry partners, seized hundreds of NetNut domains on 2 July 2026. The seizure notice was attributed to the FBI and IRS Criminal Investigation.
- Security researchers had linked NetNut to the “Popa” botnet, described as at least two million compromised devices (mostly smart TVs and streaming boxes) turned into proxy exit nodes.
- Alarum’s legal counsel said the company was aware of the seizure and cooperating with investigators.
- The report does not mention criminal charges.
We are not a party to the case and have nothing to add beyond the public reporting.
What changed on Hell World
- Netnut and F-Netnut are no longer sold. F-Oxylab was retired at the same time.
- If you bought a NetNut pool earlier, check My Proxies for its status and contact support if anything looks wrong.
- Oxylab (no F- prefix) is a different pool and is still on sale.
Which pool to move to
Pick by what you used NetNut for. Prices are per GB; the first number is the 1 GB price, the second is the 1 TB-plan price.
| If you used NetNut for… | Move to | Price per GB | Traffic expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| General scraping on a budget | OG-Geonode | $0.99 → $0.65 | Does not expire |
| Cheapest possible bulk traffic | Geofast | $0.36 → $0.23 | 90 days |
| Stable, well-geolocated residential | Iproyal | $2.00 → $1.47 | Does not expire |
| Hard targets, premium pool | Smart or Oxylab | $4.29 → $3.16 | Does not expire |
| One fixed IP for days or weeks (account work, checkouts) | Static ISP | from $2.30 per IP per month ($1.60 at 100+ IPs) | Plan length you choose |
All residential pools above support HTTP/s and SOCKS5 and country targeting. Country coverage: OG-Geonode 163, Geofast 202, Iproyal 209, Smart 218, Oxylab 215 countries.

How to switch without downtime
- Top up a small amount first. Buy 1 GB of the new pool and run your real workload for an hour. All sales are final, so test small before buying a large plan.
- Generate new proxy strings in the dashboard. The format is the same
host:port:user:passyour tools already read; only the host and credentials change. - Keep a second pool as backup. One balance covers every pool, so you can keep a cheap pool on standby and switch in minutes if your main one has a bad day.
- Check the expiry rule before buying a big plan: some pools never expire, Geofast and the F-series last 90 days. See Does proxy traffic expire?.
