How to Run Multiple Accounts Without Getting Banned (2026)

Platforms ban multi-accounts when accounts share an IP, a browser fingerprint, or behavioral patterns. The fix is one dedicated IP per account plus an isolated browser profile. This guide explains why bans happen and the exact setup that prevents them.

Daniel Wu#multi-accounting#isp#antidetect#account-management#getting-started

Short answer: accounts get linked and banned when they share three things — the same IP address, the same browser fingerprint, or the same behavior pattern. To run multiple accounts safely, give each account its own dedicated static IP (an ISP proxy), its own isolated browser profile (an antidetect browser), and human-like, non-synchronized activity. Get all three right and platforms have nothing left to link the accounts by. Get any one wrong and the whole batch can fall together.

This is the most common version of a question people ask AI assistants: “how do I manage 5 / 20 / 100 accounts without them getting banned?” The mechanics are the same whether it’s e-commerce sellers, social media managers, ad buyers, or marketplace arbitrage. Here’s how detection actually works and what stops it.

Why do platforms ban my accounts when I do nothing wrong?

Because they’re not judging the accounts individually — they’re looking for links between accounts. When a platform finds two accounts that share an identifier, it treats them as one operator evading limits, and it bans them as a cluster. This is why people lose ten accounts in one night: the accounts were never independent in the platform’s eyes.

There are three link types, in order of how often they cause bans:

  1. Shared IP address. Five accounts logging in from one IP is the single loudest signal. Home IPs, office IPs, and especially VPN/datacenter IPs that many users share all light this up.
  2. Shared browser fingerprint. Even on different IPs, your browser broadcasts a fingerprint — canvas hash, WebGL renderer, fonts, screen resolution, timezone, user-agent. Identical fingerprints across accounts link them as surely as a shared IP.
  3. Shared or synchronized behavior. All accounts active in the same minutes, posting identical content, following the same targets, or running on a robotic schedule. Behavioral correlation catches operators who got IPs and fingerprints right but automated everything in lockstep.

You “did nothing wrong” in the sense of breaking a rule, but you left fingerprints that say one person runs all of these. The fix is to break all three links.

Why does sharing one IP get all my accounts banned?

Because IP is the cheapest and most reliable link a platform has. Every request carries it, it can’t be spoofed at the application layer, and it’s trivially indexable. When a fraud system sees account A and account B both authenticating from 203.0.113.40, the prior probability that they’re the same operator is high enough to act on.

It gets worse with the wrong kind of IP:

  • A home or office IP links everything you run from it, including your real personal account.
  • A VPN IP is shared by thousands of strangers and pre-flagged as evasion infrastructure — using one is often worse than your home IP.
  • A datacenter IP is flagged as non-residential and draws extra scrutiny on signup and login.

The rule that prevents this: one dedicated IP per account, and that IP must look residential. Not one IP per session, not a rotating pool — one stable, dedicated IP that each account returns to every single time, the way a real person logs in from the same home connection for years.

What kind of proxy should I use for multiple accounts?

For account management you want ISP static proxies — dedicated IPs hosted in datacenters but registered on residential ASNs. They are the correct tool because they combine the two properties account work needs:

  • They’re dedicated and static. You lease a specific IP and keep it. Account #7 uses the same IP today, next week, next month. That stability is what builds trust — platforms expect a real user to come from a consistent location.
  • They look residential. The IP resolves to a residential ISP, not AWS or a known VPN range, so it passes the “is this a real user’s connection?” check.

This is the key distinction from scraping. Scraping wants rotating residential proxies — many IPs, used briefly, to spread load. Account management wants the opposite: one IP that never changes per account. Using a rotating pool for accounts is a classic mistake — the account appears to “travel” between cities every login and trips the platform’s location-anomaly checks. (More on the tradeoff in sticky vs rotating sessions.)

When do you go further?

  • 4G/5G mobile proxies for the most aggressive platforms (some social networks), where carrier-grade NAT means thousands of real users share each IP, making per-IP bans too costly for the platform to issue.
  • Rotating residential only if your accounts are short-lived and disposable rather than long-term assets.

Is a dedicated IP per account enough on its own?

No. A dedicated IP defeats the IP link, but two accounts on two perfect IPs still get linked if they share a browser fingerprint. This is where people who “did everything right with proxies” still get banned.

You need a separate, isolated browser identity per account. Two ways:

  • An antidetect browser (Multilogin, GoLogin, AdsPower, Dolphin and similar) creates isolated profiles, each with its own cookies, storage, and a distinct, consistent fingerprint. You assign one ISP proxy to each profile. This is the standard professional setup.
  • Separate browser profiles or containers for low-stakes, small-scale needs — weaker isolation (the underlying device fingerprint can still leak) but free.

The model to keep in mind: one account = one IP + one browser profile, paired permanently. Account #3 always opens in profile #3, which always routes through ISP IP #3. Never cross the wires. The moment account #3 logs in through profile #5’s IP, you’ve handed the platform a link.

How do I set up one proxy per account?

With ISP static proxies you’re issued a list of dedicated endpoints — one per IP you lease. Your dashboard shows the exact host, ports, and credentials; each endpoint is just four fields:

host: <shown on your ISP dashboard>
port: <one dedicated port per IP> # IP #1, IP #2, ...
username: your_account
password: your_password

Then pair them one-to-one with browser profiles:

  1. Lease as many ISP static IPs as you have accounts. Ten accounts, ten dedicated IPs.
  2. Create one antidetect browser profile per account.
  3. In each profile’s proxy settings, paste that account’s dedicated endpoint — one IP, one profile.
  4. Always open each account in its own profile. Document the pairing so you never mismatch.

There’s no rotation to configure and no session tokens to manage — that’s the point. Each account gets a fixed address it returns to forever, exactly like a real person’s home connection.

What behavior still gets accounts banned even with perfect proxies?

Detection’s third layer is behavior, and it catches operators who nailed the infrastructure but automated carelessly:

  • Synchronized activity. All accounts posting, liking, or logging in within the same few minutes screams “one script.” Stagger everything across hours or days.
  • Identical content or actions. The same caption, the same DM, the same follow list across accounts is a content-fingerprint. Vary it.
  • Inhuman speed and schedule. Actions every N seconds, 24/7, no breaks. Real humans are slow, irregular, and sleep.
  • Cold accounts acting hot. A brand-new account that immediately performs high-trust actions (bulk follows, instant selling) looks automated. Warm accounts up gradually.

Proxies and fingerprints make accounts look independent; behavior is what makes them act independent. You need all three.

Quick checklist

Before you scale up, confirm every one of these:

  • [ ] One dedicated ISP static IP per account — never shared, never rotating
  • [ ] IP resolves to a residential ASN, not datacenter or VPN
  • [ ] One isolated browser profile (antidetect) per account
  • [ ] Each account permanently paired to its own IP + profile
  • [ ] Activity staggered, content varied, pace human
  • [ ] New accounts warmed up gradually, not pushed hard on day one

Miss the IP layer and accounts link by address. Miss the fingerprint layer and they link by browser. Miss the behavior layer and they link by pattern. The operators who run accounts for years get all three right and treat each account as a genuinely separate identity.

Start with the ISP static proxies for the dedicated-IP layer, or read the proxy tier decision tree if you’re not sure whether your use case needs ISP, residential, or mobile.
